Information about Fees & FAQs
What is the cost of therapy?
I charge $140 per standard-length therapy session. This rate is the same for individual, couples and family therapy.
*Please note that for couples who are seeking one of my 8-week curriculum-based series, the cost is $100 per session. Read more here.
How long is a therapy session?
Each session is between 50-60 minutes. This range gives us the flexibility to end the session in a place that feels right for both of us. I do offer longer sessions upon request, multiplied at my hourly fee (for example, a 120 minute session would be $280)
What is the frequency of therapy?
I have both weekly and bi-weekly times available.
Do you accept insurance?
At this time I do not accept insurance. That means that I would be considered an out-of-network provider with your insurance carrier. Some people can receive a reimbursement from their insurance for out-of-network coverage. If this is the case for you, I can provide you with a receipt to submit to your insurance.
Please note:
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFTA), I practice under supervision as required by Washington State law. Some insurance plans do not reimburse for associate-level providers, even with a superbill (receipt). I recommend contacting your insurance company directly to ask:
Do you reimburse for out-of-network mental health services?
Do you reimburse for services provided by an associate-level therapist?
What percentage is covered, and is there a deductible?
This can be a little bit complicated. If you would like assistance, please give me a call and I'm happy to help guide you through the process.
Do you offer sliding scale fees?
I understand that paying for therapy is rarely easy. I wish I could offer many sliding scale openings, but at this time, I am only able to work with a small number of sliding scale clients at any given time.
You are welcome to inquire if I currently have sliding scale openings. I do ask that you only request them if you need them. This increases accessibility for those who can only pay for therapy via sliding scale.
