Individual Therapy

My approach to individual therapy is collaborative, relational and grounded in respect for each person’s life experiences.

We work together to establish a sense of where you’re at and what you’re hoping for from therapy. I’m interested in who you are and what has shaped you. That includes the systems you move through (family, culture, race, gender, faith, sexuality, class…) and the ways these parts of identity show up in your day-to-day life and relationships. Though my approach is gentle and curious, it can also be direct. I hold deep respect for the complexity of what you are navigating and the courage it takes to lean in.

I draw from trauma-informed and experiential modalities, tailoring my approach to each person I work with. You can read more about me and my approach here.

Individual therapy can take place in the office, walking or sitting outdoors, or virtually.

Sometimes labels are helpful and other times they aren’t. Our experiences don’t always fit into neat categories. That being said, some of the concerns I commonly support people with include:

  • The lasting impacts of trauma or adverse experiences, including PTSD

  • Ongoing feelings of depression

  • Identity exploration (including gender, sexuality, race, faith, and culture)

  • Anxiety and/or difficulty feeling present

  • Navigating anger

  • OCD (let’s talk about my approach and see if it’s a good fit for you)

  • Family dynamics, generational trauma, the impacts of childhood experiences

  • Addiction and/or coping behaviors you feel torn about

  • Grief and loss

  • Navigating complex relationship dynamics

*I support individuals age 13+ in individual therapy. If you are here seeking therapy for your child who is under 13, I would love to support them within the context of family therapy. For parents of adolescents ages 13-17, please give me a call to discuss the right fit for your child and your family.

When you’re looking for a therapist, it’s important that you get a sense that it’s a good fit. Reach out to have a low-pressure, low-commitment conversation to explore if working together could be right for you. If you’re not feeling it, I know other incredible therapists and I will do my best to point you in the right direction.
